Disclaimer:
Black Stainless steel finish may wear over time. Blackening stainless steel hardware forms a thin stained layer (approx 0.00030″ deep) using a special bath solution process. The coloring will not chip, however it may wear off over time. Areas where webbing or ‘metal on metal’ friction is present, may show signs of the stainless steel base material showing through over the life of the rig. Take special care not to scratch the surface as the shiny stainless steel base material will show.

Blackened Stainless steel showing signs of wear does not affect airworthiness.
